Biography:
I am 63, semi-retired in our beautiful small town of Cortez, CO with my beautiful wife, sheep, horses and dogs. I was raised in a Christian and Military home by both parents and with a younger brother and sister. My dad was in the Air Force and mom also worked outside the home. Dad was called into the ministry while TDY in Thailand in 1970 and we were raised with leadership principles along with Biblical mores. Because of both Military and Pastor Kid upbringing, I never went to the same school for more than two years so I had to learn to adapt. After graduating High School, I attended Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA majoring in Electrical Engineering. After VMI, I took the “sales” path after not getting the engineering job I wanted and have excelled at sales ever since in one capacity or another.
I found the importance of Leadership qualities at an early age in sports and then in my professional career. I remember the first two books my dad gave me to read other than the bible; The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz and Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyon. Those books laid the foundation of my thirst for growing in knowledge and well-being. Since then, I have always been a proponent for bettering yourself through repetitious reading and training.
Understanding that leaders are readers has expanded a multitude of facets in my life, those include things like vocabulary, knowledge, experience, career success, career promotions, mental wellness and self-confidence among a few.
At present, I work as a sales person with a simple schedule at a local dealership and enjoy hosting with my wife at our AirBNB, Crooked Sky Ranch & AirBNB outside of Cortez, CO at the foot of Mesa Verde National Park.
